Don't like where you live? Maybe you might want to consider moving to Minneapolis, Washington, DC (metro area), or Boston for its health and fitness strengths.
The 2011 ranking of the healthiest city in America is out and these were the top three winners. Since I live in the heart of Washington, DC, I had to share this information to 'brag' a bit. Washington, DC (covering sections of Maryland and Virginia) had more people eating 5 or more servings of fruits or vegetables, more were in excellent or very good health, and fewer folks were considered obese.
Minnesota ranked number one in overall health and fitness and has a higher percent of people who exercise. They have a lower percentage who smoke and a higher percentage of people who are at least moderately physically active.
If you want to stay young, health and fitness are the real key to the fountain of youth! I know. I will be 71 this year, look 55, and feel like 40! For the past seven months, I have averaged nearly an hour workout each day using the P90X program and paddle three times a week on a competitive dragon boat team. It works!
