We celebrate successes but don't pay much attention to the fact that success is accompanied with complications. It is true that the more we get, the more complicated life becomes -- more money, more things, more children, more work. Have you read about those individuals who win the lottery jackpots? While they revel in their fortune, their lives are disrupted significantly. If we thought about it, this is not a revelation. It's what happens when we increase complexity in our lives or in our work. We are most aware of the complications and difficulties when there are disruptive (often considered negative) changes in our lives. Yet, when we are in the midst of positive changes, we often forget that with the change comes chaos brought about by the different ways and things that will now be part of the new situation. It's like growing pains.
I am reminding myself with this blog that with success comes changes that will appear as complications until they settle in as the new normal. It will be OK.
